PowerBuilder 15 Beta - Windows 8/8.1 testing?

Anyone running the beta in Win 8/8.1?

Hi Matt,

The Windows 8 64 Bit VM did not reboot, after installation of the PB Beta 15 😞 .  The Reboot was done but the reboot hang screen says “Please wait, changes are applied” (*) for an hour. After that the VM did not boot any more.

It need to use the “save/secure boot mode” (*) one of the F8 boot feature of Windows to get the VM to run. I Try to figure out what the Problem is.

It seems that i can use PB15 even if windows is in secure mode, i generated a new PB application with the Application Wizard.

I used the standard installation, the only thing I denied was “reinstall .Net 4.0” which comes up
from windows 8 because win 8 comes with .Net 4.0.

After booting the VM once in this “save/secure boot mode” (*) and starting PB15 i can boot the windows 8 VM normaly today.

If I were able to actually get into the beta, I could test it out on Windows 8.1, but there's that whole S-ID thing that nobody wants to talk about.

Hi Allen,

we are/were a former Sybase Customer. Our Sybase contract has been silently converted by
the SAP in May 2013. Silently meant, that our company did not get any
information of the conversion, so we did not know our new SAP-Customer number
which is necessary to register an S-User.

The problem was that the
SAP used the over 10 years old Sybase customer data. They are missing our
company domain and one of the contact person left our company years ago.

My advice is to contact the
SAP Support via telephone (Contact us), in my case it was EMEA region.

They are friendly and it took me 2 hours to get our SAP-Customer number and a S-User, even if
they told me that it could take 24 hours that the systems replicate the
necessary information and generate the e-mail.

i will try with Windows 8 64 Bit running within an VM (VMWare), just installing the PB15 Beta.
