Not able to modify Personnel area through PA40 action

Dear Experts,

I am trying to change the personnel area through PA40

First the Personnel area modifcation is accepting in IT000 and its errored in IT0001 screen.

Error Message

Sequence number not permitted

Message no. PBAS_SERVICE004

Diagnosis

You attempted to create a data record with sequence number for infotype 0006 subtype 1. It is, however, not permitted to use a sequence number for this combination.

System Response

The operation cannot be performed.

Procedure

Create data records without sequence numbers only.

Procedure for System Administration

You are only permitted to use a sequence number if the infotype or subtype has time constraint "3". If you expressly want to use sequence numbers, you must adjust the system settings for the infotype

Hi Tamiz,

Since i cannot replicate the issue, i would request you to run the report RPUFIXDS on this employee and i am sure you will find a resolution to this issue. I am assuming this is an issue because of multiple assignments.

Hi Tamiz,

Check the communication type Cell in your above IT0006 pic............

Please remove Cell or fill the rest of the coloumns with proper telephone number.

The screen shows its for Country Canada and for canada if communication type exists its mandatory to have phone numbers as well or you can remove the type Cell from that field as well.

Thanks for  the quick response. This is the error I am getting when doing an Personnel area change in IT0001 through PA40. The error pertains to IT0006. Rather I tried to modify in IT0006 and the issue is same

can you please check how many subtypes has been maintained for 0006

The best option out here will be exit from PA40 and enter TCODE: PA30.. In PA30 screen click on Utilities and Change entry and Leaving date: Here you will have the provision to change personnel areas ( Only here it will be unlocked for editing)

Anil..My requirement is NOT to navigate to IT0001 or IT000 screen. After I going to PA40 screen and modifying Personnel Area its getting saved in IT000 and then it travels to IT000 screen, their I am NOT able to save the screen, ultimately the newly changed Personnel Area is NOT modified

Hi Tamiz,

I hope OM-PA Integration exists. In that case whether PA,PSA is stored for position in OM in IT1008 - Account assignment features.

Also from your above screen , it seems you have central person id as well for GLobal assignment as well. So whether you are trying to change the assignment through transfer action ??

Also check any dynamic action exists when you do the action which creates this error!!!!!!!!

Hi,

Check your Infogroup operations , whether you given MOD / DIS functionality for the specific info type.
