Question is related to instance specific start profile

Hello all,

I have read in sap material that instance specific start profile specifies which process needs to be started for each instance for example message server and dispatcher

I have issue regarding the above statement as start profile is instance specific why it is starting message server which is not instance specific,message server is common for all instances

Can anyone help me to understand this concept better.
