We have not implemented batch management during implementation. But now we wanted to maintain batch for saleable products (FERT - Finished product). Please let us tell the procedure to implement batch managment at this level. We already have purchase orders, sale orders and production orders etc.
Addition to above You can do Batch Management activation .Before activating Batch Management you need to clear all old stock and clear open documents .So that system will allow you to activate batch.
We did this activity before.The challenge is clearing the stock and documents.
As already indicated by other member, before activating any materials, you need clear all the open orders and open PO if any.For detailed explanation please follow the below document, which is very helpful.
