How to save a variant in POWL ALV WDA?

Hi Guys,

I need to do the following and I have no idea how:

on an ALV grid, the user should be able to select from a list of various predefined layouts.

The layout are not to be created by the user but automatically.

When the user logs on I need to check if there is a layout with a specific name. If it does not exist I need to create it.

To add the pain, it is on the POWL.

How do I read if a specific user or all users have a specific layout and then create it?

thanks,

Itay

    Hi,

Perhaps you can check the table WDY_CONF_USER and add your custom layouts and mark them as standard, when the application starts?

Maybe this contains some valuable information: P13n and Dynamic Component Creation

    Regards,

    Carl

      thanks Carl,

I will look into this. I saw that table WDY_CONF_USER cannot be seen via SE16.

Is there any way to see the entries aside of doing a select clause?

My issue is how to define what fields are hidden and what are not in the display variant...

      thanks,

      Itay
