Connection ports for Applications

Hi everyone

I have a question, we are installing BO but the consultants are connected via VPN, we have communications issues and I don't find the ports for:

  • WebIntelligence
  • Dashboard Desing (Crystal Xcelsius)
  • Information Desing Tool

Someone knows where can I find the ports?

Best regards

    Hi Gilberto,

I'm assuming you're still getting this issue...

You'll need to lock down a number of the Processing servers in the CMC, so that they use a specific port. Once this is done, then you'll have to open those ports on the firewall.

The following servers will need the request port, as it's called, setting in the CMC:

    • CMS - Uses 6400 for the initial handshake
    • Input/Output FRS
    • Webi Processing Server
    • Dashboard servers

I'm assuming that you are using BI 4.x, so you will also need to set the request port for the Adaptive Processing servers that you should have split out.

If this doesn't work, then it could be something that denied/stopped via the VPN, i.e.: if you use a jump server or something along those lines.

Let me know how you get on.

    Cheers,

    Kevin

There could be dynamic ports that are assigned in your system. Using your local machine within the network connect to each application and then user netstat -a command from command panel and it will show all the ports that are being used.. However you will have to get the dynamic port range assigned in CMC for a complete range of ports that can be assigned..
