Configuring Business Objects - BI

hi,

How can i check and verify whether in a Netweaver installation BI (Business Intelligence) is installed / configured or not?

Is it possible to get an idea by looking at the components (System->status->Component version)

In the Netweaver installation, it is only having ABAP stack. It is not having Java stack. So if we configuring BI, what would be the best method.

(Is it separately install Java stack on a separate server and integrating that with the ABAP stack?)

zerandib

Hi Zerandib,

You can check the logs of sapinst to check if your installation is successful or not .

Hello,

You should check following points:

1) Whether BI_CONT is installed or not.

2) Go to RSA1 and check what all source systems are configured there.

SAP has already discontinued Dual stack system from new releases. As a recommended practice, you should install ABAP and Java stack separately.

Thanks,

Hi

Java stack is only required if you want to use the Bex Web with portal.

As told by Sunny you must install a separate Java stack (new instance with different SID) but it could be installed on the same host as the Abap stack. It can also share the same DB (MCOD, Multiple components in One Database)
