Deploying BOBJ reports in HANA database

Hi everyone,

I have a doubt hope you guys clear it. I have a HANA Appliance which is connected to BOBJ server, if I create a report based on any views in HANA directly in BOBJ, will the report execute in BOBJ server or HANA appliance. May be this question is stupid but why I am asking is BOBJ server will not offer me the HANA functionality. If it is using BOBJ server, is there any possibilities that I can only develop reports using BOBJ tool and deploy it in HANA database and access ? and I what to know for each case like explorer, analysis office, dashboard, crystal reports..

Hello Gokul,

SAP BusinessObjects BI products are able to report on top of the HANA system. You save your reports to the SAP BusinessObjects server and you would use the Lifecycle Management from the SAP BusinessObjects BI server to move objects between DEV, QA, PROD

using a report in BOBJ on top of HANA view is not much different than with any other RDBMS.. 

So the data retrieval is still on top of HANA and report level calculation will only be in business objects..

When you create a BOBJ report or dashboard its always deployed on BOBJ repository in BOBJ server and not on the hana appliance , HANA is only used for data access.. There is no way to deploy the reports on HANA.. However you can use HANA as BOBJ repository database..
