Question is related to instance specific start profile

Hello all,

I have read in sap material that instance specific start profile specifies which process needs to be started for each instance for example message server and dispatcher

I have issue regarding the above statement as start profile is instance specific why it is starting message server which is not instance specific process/

Can anyone help me to understand this concept better.
