Using MDG for just approavl workflow. No data creation or replication

I have a question regarding using MDG for request/approval process of a custom data object but not auto-creation or replication. To give more context The scenario is user wants to submit request for a new legal entity along with the business reasoning (a form with few attributes can be used here (no ECC validations required),  the request shoud be routed to approver and once it is approved, instead of creating any data in ECC, a email or any form of notification is generated for configuration team to configure the new company code.

The reason we are trying to do this in MDG, is to keep the governance in place for data objects that may not be supported by MDG.

Any response in this regard is highly appreciated.

Thanks

Hello Zorawar

It is possible. Deactivate replication model which will ensure that the data is not replicated at all. In that case your data will be stored in MDG tables.

On notification, MDG has standard notification functionality. You can look at the document and configure the email notification. Just search on SCN, you will get this document. It is SAP MDG std process.

Send a Mail notification during the governance process

Kiran,

Thanks for response, just wanted to confirm. I am asuuming we can deactivate replication model by entity? or in other words you can deactivate it for Legal Entity but still use normal create process for GL accounts, PC & CC etc?

Thanks

Hello Zor

Yes you can create different entity type based replication models. Separate GL / CC and PC replication model and don't add legal entity in it. This will serve your purpose.
