IS-U/CRM Integration

Hi everybody,

Currently I am trying to understand how IS-U, CRM and the CRM webclient are integrated but I can't wrap my head around it. I already look at the cookbook of IS-U/CRM contract integration but I still don't understand it.

Can anyone explain me in very simple terms for example what is replicated between ISU, CRM and the webclient, how this replication takes place, in which direction (ISU<->CRM<->webclient?), what is stored in CRM and/or the webclient etc etc.

I just can't find a good document which explains the integration in general terms.

Thanks in advance for all the input. Much appreciated!!

Hi,

As u mention in your post , that u need to know what is replicated between ISU & CRM, so i would like to suggest u first understant the Master Data of IS-U . While the data can be flow in both the direction as per your configuration in between CRM <--> IS-U. And the Webclient basically used ease the functionality of CRM to end user , just like a portal from where data store to CRM.

Hi Anurag,

Thank you for the reply. So the webclient only a portal to CRM which offers end-users an easier to use interface? But is it also a portal to ISU? Because I can also create a connection object in the webclient which is technical master data and stored in ISU. And when I create a connection object in the webclient, does the replication only take place between webclient and ISU or do you still need CRM as a kind of middleware?

Your suggestion about the master data. I have already studied it and I understand that the main data objects are business partner, contract account (which is business agreement in CRM) contract, connection object, premise, device, installation, device type, Point of Delivery etc etc. I also understand how the different data objects are connected which each other and that the commercial master data is stored in SAP CRM and replicated to ISU. For example I can search in both systems for a specific business partner.

However what is the deal with the technical master data? The technical master is stored in ISU and according to some cookbooks it is also replicated to CRM. However there is no transaction code or way in SAP CRM to search for example a specific connection object. Or at least I haven't found a way. I would think that when something is replicated to a system you can also find it in the same system.

I also have difficulties to understand how the replication between the two systems takes place for contracts and installation.

So still alot of questions but thank you again for the valuable input!

Hi Max,

As per your querie, webclient only portal of CRM = Yes,

The data replicate via Middleware setting of the CRM.

It's correct there is no transaction to create the TMD in CRM but you can view the details of the TMD in the Table and apart from Middleware..t-code EPRODCUST in IS-U also used for replication.

of Installation and Contract.

Hi Anurag,

Thank you for your quick response. I also found an useful document called IUT255: Integration of SAP CRM and SAP IS-U which has simple diagrams that explain the whole replication process. So I am going to study it and if I have any questions I will come back to you! Thanks for all the input.

Cheers
