Service order Confirmation using BAPI_ALM_CONF_CREATE

Hello Experts,

I have a requirement to create a report program for confiming the unconfirmed service orders. I found that this can be established using BAPI_ALM_CONF_CREATE. But am not clear on how to use this BAPI regarding the parameters i have to pass and how to get the error log etc.

I also have few concerns that whenever i select a service order, first a check must be performed when that service order is opened or not if the service order is open that is locked by any user i must display a error message stating that the service order is locked by that user, how can i do this functionality. I request you to help me on this requirement.
