Archiving Contract Accounts

All, thanks for your help in advance

We have approx 100,000 CAs we want to archive.  They have not been used for nearly two years.  Our consultant is advising to do this, we need to provide them with every document number per CA that we want to archive.  This seems ludicrous.

Is this true, and if not, can someone advise at a high-level what the process is for archiving.

I am not sure what archiving object is being used, however all the business want is to archive the CAs and their related postings, however they should be able to be displayed.

CAs that still have balances or open sale orders should "fall out" of the archiving.

I just expected to provide the consultant a list of CAs.

Is this possible.

1. BUSOBARCH archiving program (You can check the selection screen of this report and see for yourself the options available for archiving CA's)

BUSOBARCH_DELETE deletion program (This is for deleting the CA's)

2. Open contract accounts will not get archived

3. You can provide the list of the CA's to the consultant so that he will perform the archiving, for the safer side try to provide only closed CA's which does have any pending balance left.

Thanks so much for that.  I will ask the consultant.  This has made me realise we need to be talking to an archiving expert instead of a SD consultant.
