PPM asset settlement PS integration

Hello Experts,

We are implementing a solution with PPM 5.0 integrated with PS to manage CAPEX projects.

We have made all configurations so that we can transfer all actual costs that go to the asset under construction and cost center through cost element config and flags on the ERP side for settlement behavior maintenance (Fixed Asset - Flag ON).

Se this is what it happens:

1. Actual costs are moving fine without the settlement after running program /RPM/FICO_INT_PLANNING.

2. Once we do the settlement for the asset under construction the system properly moves the financial information from the cost accounts to the asset accounts with the expected credit/debit behavior transfer.  So we still see the correct total amount of actual cost in PPM financial planning.

3. But when we make the settlement to the final fix asset to close the project, actual costs are cancelled out before integration occurs .  So actual cost for the CAPEX part for the project would not be visible in PPM financial planning.

So the question is:

Is this the expected behavior for PPM for CAPEX projects or am I missing any configuration that manages that will leave the actual costs for final fixed assets settlement?

I have attached the important pics that might help understand better the situation.

Cost element range: 52XXXXXX  (Cost)

Cost element range: 15XXXXXX (Asset)

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

HI Enrique,

According your scenario costs in PPM should be the same independent on the settlement has been executed or not ( to the AuC or to the FXA)

I think you should unflag FXA from settlement behaviour, if you flag it  is to include these postings in PPM then you need to unflag and recheck it.

Hello Carla,

Thanks for the quick response. If I unflag the FXA from settlement behavior I don´t even get data from the asset account (15XXXXXX) it gets cancelled out before executing the integration program. The AuC and FXA accounts are configured both as cost element type 90.

But PPM should see FXA data after settlement correct?   Even if the accounting document after settlement does not have the relationship of the WBS element under de assignment information since it moves from AuC to the FXA. Its important to mention that PS does not see the FXA data vía the Cji3 report as well.  Or are we missing anything of FI-PS config as well?

Thanks.

Hi Enrique,

Values in PPM should be independent on settlement to AuC or FXA, only the initial posting in the WBS ( Good receipt, invoice..) should be dispayed in PPM.

Flag ( FXA) should be unflagged ( because you shouldn't consider)

It is correct you don't have the 15XXXXXX data, this cost is part of the settlement, isn't it? you only should see the origin documents :

Example 52010XXXXX here you have 2 postings:

1) original --> material document ( positive)

2) settlement (negative) --> this shouldn't be considered if you unflag FXA,

Then for this cost element you should only display the first one posting.

There are several OSS related to PPM/settlement check if you have all of them implemented.

Let me know if you don't find the solution.

Hello Carla thanks again for the quick response, we unflag the FXA and still have issues with actuals. We have been toggling around with the rest of the flags getting different results even for the PS side (double actual cost data).  But none as expected behavior.

After a hard work on looking for notes and messages we found that note 1611270 might solve the issue. We will implement as soon as possible and see how it works fro our scenario.

The note says for the config side:

PRO

>Integration with other mysap.com components

  >SAP Portfolio and Project Management

   >Portfolio Management

    >Maintain Settlement behavior.

WBS element (other project) = 'Blank'

     Network (other project)     = 'Blank'

     Order (other project)       = 'Blank'

So my question now is:  Should WBS element (same project) and Network (Same project) = Blank' as well?

Thanks.

HI Enrique,

THe options( same project) should be blank.. This means that the system doesn't take in account internal settlement ( if you have it)

The options ( other project) should be flagged but really It is not important, other project is when your WBS receives costs from the settlement of other object not linked to your WBS. ( not normal) You can flag or unflag ( my advice is flag them)

I think this OSS is going to solve your problem ( I had to implement it)

Hello Carla,

Thanks for your help we finally have a solution, actual costs for FXA after settlement are moved to PPM system.

Here is what it worked for our scenario:

1. Implement note 1611270

2. We remove config of asset accounts from cost element type 90 as mention before. This was the cause for double data in PS.

3. Config on ERP system:

>Integration with other mysap.com components

  >SAP Portfolio and Project Management

   >Portfolio Management

    >Maintain Settlement behavior.

WBS element (Same project) = 'Blank'

     Network (Same project)     = 'Blank'

     Fix Asset                  = 'Blank'

Thanks.
