Navigation between two components using hyperlinks

Hi Experts,

I have a requirement to create a hyperlink in a search result view that would navigate to a view in another component. I tried to create a navigation link that would link the output and input plug in the two components but i am getting an error that implies that i cannot use the component with the inbound plug.

Can someone suggest an alternate method that would work or correct where i am going wrong. I am very new to this and any little detail will help.
