The Adaptive Processing Server (APS) is shows that running and enabled but I`m facing an issues with Adaptive Processing Server (APS), frequently. We have a DASHBOARD which is linked to the WEBI Reports through OPEN DOCUMENT URL(S). Once we clicked the Open Document URL link it shows that " please wait while the document is being processed " for lone time, the WEBI report is not opening after 15 mins also. It`s working fine once we have restarted the APS, after sometime the issues is started again. The problem is occurred in daily and frequently. could you please suggest me to solve the issue?

Memory considerations to be taken 16GB is not good enough i believe for your system. Is this a cluster / distributed system you have?
As you mentioned that sizing has been done correctly, it would be best to provide the architecture along with the memory allocation for each servers. Please do mention at any point how many users might login.
Do specify whether issue is with specific document or else specific opendocument only.
How much free space does the installation directory of BO has?
Check whether the issue is occurring in CMC as well.
If issue is only with open documents, try to open the opendocs in different viewer options in BILaunchPad for webi and see whether it works out.
Additionally, how much time does the report take to open in BI LaunchPad and on refreshing the same.
Thanks for all the replies.I hope the issue is coming only in BI Launch Pad, I didn`t noticed in CMC. It takes approx. 1 min to refresh the report. I will check with the same in public folder, instead of open document, weather it is working or not?
I will clear the Apache Tomcat Cache and APS cache, installed folder directory and i will update you.
Hi,
I had a also a similar problem with the APS , when i have interacted with my BASIS team, they had stabilized the server after interacting with SAP, due to unstability server will godown frequently, if possible raise a OSS message with SAP.

Hi,
I would suggest to scale the APS by following the guide "Best Practices for SAPBO BI 4.0 Adaptive Processing Servers". The guide can be found in SCN on http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-31711
