Hi Sheetal,

In your case see you have a business requirement where the employees work for 8 hours from Monday to Thursday and on Friday they work for 4 hours.

Here you can make an entry in the table V_T550X (Define Rules for Variants) as i have entered below

Rule    No     Holiday class        HolClNextDay  Day      Variant

01       01        XXXXXXXXXX    XXXXXXXXXX   ....X..        B

The above one is a sample rule which suits your case .

After this you will be creating a daily work schedule with 8 hours in table V_T550A For e.g GEN and also create a daily work schedule with variant B For E.g GEN(B).

Then after making the others settings while generating the work schedule for an employee this DWS variant will be referred and in the case of Friday the employee will be having reduced working hours - 4 hours.

But the variant is only used in the case where there should be reducing working hours in some situation.

Let me clear you that while making an entry in 2001 for a day it will refer to the daily work schedule of the employee based upon the entry in 00007 infotype. In case employee is taking leave on Monday then it will 8 hours in your case and on Friday means 4 hours.

In case as per your scenario when an entry is made in 2001 you want to the absence hours to be average hours then this can be achieved through Customer exit/Enhancement - .PBAS0001 PA: Pers.Admin./Recruitment: Default values and checks - ask your ABAP consultant to work on this.

Hope this solves your issue. I have given a detailed explanation so it will be easy for you to understand.

you meant to say that we can just configure the dws variant but we need to take help from ABAP consultant if we need to deduct the absence hours on average basis.

Yes absolutely there is a customer exit which i have mentioned in the previous message try it out surely its possible.

But through DWS variant its not possible , try applying for leave in 2001 for any leave type you can see the absence hours been populated in the infotype is the planned hours for that particular day based upon the work schedule infotype.

Hi Sheetal,

DWS Class: 1 - 9 Strands for Working day, 0 - Stands for Day off

I think your doubt is if employee will take absence how system is going to treat him?

If it is like this, Normally your maintaining absence type by IT 2001 so in this case there is no specific DWS variant. As well as you are going maintain attendance hours by IT 2002.

And you are saying Monday to Friday working days DWS Class keep it 1, For Saturday & Sunday Day off keep it 0.

If still you have doubts kindly let me know.

Keep smiling
