Physical inventory - perishables

Dear All,

We have to do the annual physical inventory for perishables. This means for us to be able to fill the information about expiry date and a batch characteristic (producer's material batch). I need to fill this information in the inventory document and at the moment of 701 movement type - to fill the information on the batch data (batch classification). I do not see any field for this information (neither a text field at position level - to fill here the information until the 701 movement type registration).

Do you have some information about physical inventory for perishables?

Do you know some exit for SAPMM07I, or BADI?

Regards,

Florina Rau

there is no option at all to enter this information during a physical inventory. This information is captured when you receive the goods and can later be chnged in MSC2N only.

Does your classification change with  a physical invntory?

Until now I have not captured this information in SAP system. From this physical inventory on, we want to have in the system the expiry date and the batch number at the producer (this is a batch characteristic). So - maybe I will have to create new batches and classify them (now I have 1 batch for each acquisition - but maybe the vendor has sent me materials with different expiry date and batch number at the producer so I will have to create new batches in order to maintain this data). And I have allot of materials....

I hoped that I may have in the inventory document a field to populate the expiry date and a text field for the batch number at the producer. From here, at the 701 movement type I may be able to change the classification... This was my plan...but I'm not able to find any field... If you have any suggestion (work around for automation), do not hesitate ...

definitely no way through physical inventory.

You have to create your batches with MSC1N and then you can move the quantities with 311 from your old batch to the new batches .

Such movement can be processed en mass using batch input recording or LSMW with BAPI/recording/batch input method

The same can be done with batch creation if you have the data ready.
