Related to SAP Guide System Copy for
SAP Systems Based on SAP NetWeaver 7.0 including Enhancement Package 2 ABAP I
would have few questions
We have
still Oracle 10.2.0.4 so we use master media for
kernel 7.00 and then upgrade to newest kernel 7.20 as on production.
The
procedure is :
Can I run OraBRCopy Java tool on productive system
(on cluster) with no danger?
Would it be possible to do
that from online(dataprotector) backup (regardless we have it integrated via
backint/so we perform restore from source machine ). If possible to restore it to another target
system could you let me know how?
On test system yesterday I had to change password of
user
SYTEM in order to get OraBRCopy Java tool functional. Could this be problem on productive system (for
backups)?
I think the procedure is same for NW 700 and 702?
Thank you in advance
Jan
Have a look at this guide as it speaks about the steps to be executed.
Why don't you just backup the source system database restore the database of the target system ?
You just need to copy the .sap profile, .utl file, backup logs used by the backup.
You need to make sure that the target system is able to communicate with the backup server used by the source system. Probably a storage or a backup specialist can assist you in configuring that.
Once the restore is completed you need to recreate the OPS$ users and apply the license and perform the other post refresh tasks.
