A BAPI is nothing more than a Function Module that is RFC (Remote Function Call) enabled - this means that it can be called from external systems. You can use them in a ABAP Program via the CALL FUNCTION command.
You can look at transaction code BAPI (the BAPI Explorer) to get a list of BAPIs or go to SE37 and search for Function Modules whose name starts with 'BAPI'.
