Hi Gurus,
I would like to do batch determination based on GR date when we have two batches have the same expiry date.
currently our batch determination has the sort based on Expiry date and then on batch number. But some cases, the batch starts with A and B has same expiry date but B was received first than A and B was replenished to our forward pick through our WM replenishment.
But the system is selecting A due to the sort. If I remove the sort by batch number will it go by GR date or system will select randomly or can I enter the last GR date as one of the characteristics in my batch class and add it to sort category.
Appreciate your thoughts.
Subramanian.
You need to add the characteristic LOBM_LWEDT to your batch classification and to your sort rule.

How often do you receive one batch?
And how would you be able to differentiate different receipt dates if you do not create extra batches.
I mean if you have a batch A which was initially received May 1st with expiration date Dec 31st
and a batch B received May 15th with expiration date Dec 31st
then you want batch A because it was received earlier.
But if you receive batch A again on May 20th.
What is in that case the oldest batch, A or B? What if the first receipt of A was already consumed when B arrived, then B is older than A if you got A again on May 20th.
As an alternative you can use LOBM_HSDAT manufacturing date, this would always be the same for same batch.
