Dear,
my customer would like to start using Embedded Analytics (for one specific case right away and if successful, it might be used for other cases as well).
I first read blog posts, customizing info as well as some of the Help pages and basically tried reproducing the following (both well explained by 😞
http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-21637
However I cannot select Crystal Reports. With regards to the SFLIGHT example I figured it was due to the fact that the BCS3 InfoSet is not BI Enabled in our system, so that's why I started the other example as well. There I simply don't have Crystal Reports available.
I have downloaded Crystal Reports Viewer version 2011 SP08 (that's most likely the version the customer will be using) on my laptop (Win 8.1 64bit).
(We're on ECC 6.0 Enhancement Package 6)
The basic configuration (transaction RSRTS_ACTIVATE_R3IS) has been done (DEV client 200):
And the customizing settings were carried out as well:
I've actually enabled Crystal Reports in the previous SPRO entry as well (as described in http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/705da859-5958-2e10-df89-ec2914d4f...).
The reports are run in DEV client 220 (as client 200 does not contain transaction data). To make sure this "error" has nothing to do with the clients, I have transported (and verified) my customizing settings to our QAS environment and ran the reports there as well. Same result.
Does anyone have a clue as to what I am missing (or doing wrong) here?
Kind regards,
Raf
Raf,
Did you download the Crystal Reports run time suite viewer described in note 1353044?
You won't see the Crystal option enabled in the ALV until you do that.
Also see How to set up and use Crystal Reports from your ABAP List Viewer Reports (ALV) inside ECC - minute 1.09
Let's get this part working first and then look at the transient providers next.

Hey Tammy,
yup as I mentionned in my post per "I have downloaded Crystal Reports Viewer version 2011 SP08 (that's most likely the version the customer will be using) on my laptop (Win 8.1 64bit)."
The note states however:
so it might actually mean it does not work in Win 8.1 64 bit
I'll try this at home (on a Win7 64 bit - luckily I haven't upgraded that one yet) next week (too busy this weekend) and see whether I still have the same issue.
Other than that my approach looks ok, right?
Cheers,
Raf
PS cannot view videos here either... so, will check that as well next week (from home)

hey Tammy,
I just ran some check programs (according to the Trouble Shooting note 1382730) and it seems we're missing something. The CR Adapter (CrystalReportViewer.dll) is apparently not installed. I guess that's the CR Add-On which is referenced in note 135044. I have asked to have this installed by the basis team (not allowed to do so myself), which I probably "forgot" to do before.
Thanks for your patience with me
Cheers,
Raf
