SLD content migration - correct steps

Former Member

Hi,

We have to migrate from an old XI 3.0 to a new PI 7,31 which is a new built.

So have have to export the product/SWCV date (CR export) and the landscpe data (LD) from the old XI to the new PI SLD.

When importing the CR file we get a warning:

"The selected CR 1.0 full import belongs to line CR which is not compatible with line(s) SAP_CR of previous imports. Data of the selected import will most likely interfere with previously imported data. This leads to inconsistencies in your SLD content.
Selected import: Full CR 1.0.
"

So what are the right steps to migrate the data to the PI SLD?

Can we import to the PI SLD which is on up to date CIM model/CR content?

We found information that SLD content migration is ok if the target SLD is of the same or a higher version.

Seems the SLD has a different opinion......

Your help is reallay appreciated!

Best regards

Dirk.

Hi,

Ok, did that sucessful. But there are some things you need to consider.

You can create a ALL export from the old SLD and import it to the new SLD of different release (higher).

The system will only import objects that are not already existing.

(ignore this warning coming up)

But SLD seems to count for errors on import (including SAP object import which is nothing we usually touch.)

After a number of errors the import stops.

Then it depends on simple luck if the import was ok for you with all your objects you need.

This here is a smaller system. I am thinking about systems with hundreds of customer SWCVs and TS/BS.

Found this when we had a need to do some corrections in the source SLD and imported only CR export file then again to new SLD.

The import was interrupted and the result was poor.

No issue so far as we exported then single SWCVs from old SLD:

But this was time consuming (thinking again about moving some hundred customer objects).
