Unable to create cost center heirarchy

Former Member

I am trying to create a new cost center hierarchy but i keep getting the following issues:

When I try to create the first node by copying an existing node in tcode OKEON I get the error below:

Overlapping intervals or identical values have occurred

then when i try to save it I get

Cost Center Group ATOT_1097 does not exist

Not sure what I can do here:

If I try and create the hierarchy from Tcode  KSH1 then I am unable to view the structure in OKEON.

I am also unable to assign a new cost center to that heirarchy...............

Where am i going wrong...........

Hi Saad,

Transaction OKEON is to maintain Standard hierarchy.  Here the top most node will be your standard hierarchy which is assigned to the particular controlling area. Here when you try to copy the top node( which is your standard hierarchy), it will create a cost center group under the top node instead of creating hierarchy.

So Kindly try below steps:

  1. TA: KS01: create cost centre
  2. TA: KSH1 create the cost center group first.
  3. TA: KSH1; specify the hierarchy name (your standard hierarchy) and create the structure by assigning the cost centre groups and cost centres to it.

The changes done to only standard hierarchy structure will be reflected in OKEON as well.

Hi Saad,

Do you have any other cost center standard hierarchy earlier? If yes, you can't create more than one standard hierarchy for one controlling area. If it is newly created, follow the steps mentioned above reply.

Hi,

Try to create a cost center heirarchy with letters only, not with numbers as you already crearted with letters.

Ex: you are trying to create with AM_1097, but remove 1097 and enter letters as you required then check.

Ok I am assigning a node to an existing hierarchy and it keep s giving the error below:

Overlapping intervals or identical values have occurred

Top node

CAAM_STD

Next Node is

AM_CH

Next Node is what i am trying to create

AM_1097

Hi Saad,

I think there are changes needed to be done in the SET, TA: GS02. Correct the set you are using so that it does not contain any value more than once or else change the settings in order to allow the multiple occurances.

Goto --> Header--> deselect the ambiguity check for set maintenance.

you can carry out the ambiguity check and find out the values that occur more than once.

Utilities--> Ambiguity check.

Hello Saad,

You can disable the ambiguity check for a Set in GS02 if you go to the Header level. pls go to GS02 provide the set name and then pls go to utilites tab ---> Click Amguity check option and then execute the same.

I hope it helps!

Hello Saad,

Seems you didnt create cost center group in KSH1. Without creating this it is not possible to make enteries in OKEON like Without foundation no one make a building

First create the missing cost center group ( Standard hierarchy) through KSH1. After that pls go to OKEON t code to create the required structure which consists of several cost center groups with related cost centers.

I hope it clears!

Thanks & Regards,
