Period Control Push Button

I'm creating an asset with depreciation type with S/L Period Control method.  When I add the asset in the Asset Master, the Period Control push button is greyed out.  How do I get it active?

Hi Lori,

Check in T code "OAYZ" what screen layout you have assigned for the asset class.

And Check the T code AO21, to see the properties of screen layout rule.

The FG 02,Useful life is optional or not in AO21 determines your case.

I figured it out....all I had to do was highlight the line where I created the multi-level type and the "Period Control" button was active.
