What are the Configuration Steps on SUP server in SCC for clients(HWC)?

Can any one describe in detail the different configuration steps in to be done sybase control center on SUP server for clients.

From a development point of view we can directly deploy the application registering  the device  and enabling  the security profile in workspace and SCC and deploy the application,

what are the things to consider when deploying for clients ?

There are a number of options you can choose.  The default Settings Screen in the HWC clients gives a good indication of what is supported.

1) Manual.  As you described, an Administrator needs to create a registration on the server before the client connects.  The user will connect using the username and authorization code created for them by the administrator.

2) Automatic (username/password).  The server is setup with a security configuration to validate a username/password sent from the HWC.  Once this validation is successful, the client gets its settings from a template on the server (there is a default HWC template).  In this template, you are also able to assign Hybrid Apps so that they are automatically downloaded to the HWC.

3) Automatic (certificate).  Same as 2, but instead of username/password, an X.509 certificate is used.  You obviously need to configure the correct LoginModule on the server to validate the X.509 certificate.  This option is commonly used with Afaria for distribution of the certificates to the devices.

Hi Kunnu,

from the developer's point of view, whatever you mentioned in your thread query are more enough. But you are also thinking from Admin's perspective there are few things you can do:

you can set the log levels in sybase control center to analyze the application flow end to end for a client.

you can create monitoring profile in SCC for particular package and sec config.

Let me know if you are specific to a particular requirement/problem.
