Query views SQL

Hello Gurus,

The problem I encounter is to understand how the query views SQL is saved in BW. In other words, I would like to know what is executed in terms of SQL when the user launches a query view. Is the query view SQL executed solely and directly on the database or do the query SQL on which the query view is linked is also executed?

Moreover, I don't know where to find the query view SQL. The RSRT transaction doesn't present this one, but only the query SQL.

Thanks in advance,

Geoffroy

Hi,

Have you considered running an ST12 trace to capture the SQL? You can try on your user ID or transaction etc. It might take a couple of attempts but you could be able to capture the SQL.

Hello Michael,

Due to restrictions on ST12, I tried with ST03. In a first analysis, it seems  the SQL generated after executing a view is only the one of the view and not the one of the "master" query.

Thx for your help,

Geo
