SAP Netweaver 7.30 Trial NWA

Former Member

Hi,

I have installed SAP Netweaver 7.30 Trial on a Windows 2008 R2 64bit server virtual machine.

The installation finished succesfully and the MaxDB instance is up and running.

But i am expiriencing difficulties accessing the http://server:port/nwa

For some reason ICM is not starting automatically and it would be great if someone could point me in the right direction for configuring ICM to be able to access Netweaver Administrator trough web interface.

Mario,

Refer to this media list guide.

https://websmp203.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700001301332010E

You need to download all the materials mentioned in this guide.

http://service.sap.com/swdc

SAP NetWeaver and complementary products" SAP NetWeaver" SAP NETWEAVER 7.3 - SAP NetWeaver and complementary products - SAP NetWeaver - SAP NETWEAVER 7.3 - Installation - Microsoft Windows - MaxDB (SAPDB)

(I believe you are going to use MaxDB database)

Hi,

I get an error that "Service can not be reached".

I am attaching a screenshot of the info.

I get that after I run SMICM in Netweaver and than change port of the service to 50000.

OtherWise I don't even get this message.

Hello

Check the ICM URL filtering is preventing you from accessing the portal.

1451753 - Filtering administration requests for AS Java

If yes then remove the items from icm_filter_rules.txt and restart J2EE

Hi,

In the MMC i can see only abap system.

Did you change the port from 8000 to 50014 and then 50000.

Why did you change this parameters(any specific reason.)

icm/server_port_0                           PROT=HTTP,PORT=80$$,TIMEOUT=30,PROCTIMEOUT=300

What do you see in the SMICM ---> trace --> display.

You will  not have NWA if it is abap system only.

Please post the logs in SMICM and then we can check what is wrong.

Can you also check what do you see when you click on goto ----> services in smicm.

Please try to use fully qualified host name.

SAPLOCALHOSTFULL= fully qualified server name

icm/host_name_full = fully qualified server name

This parameter must be attributed to the fully qualified server name (for example,

wdfd002568.wdf.sap). The name must contain at least two periods, see also SAP Note 434918.

Can you please check that the host name is resolved .

Try to enter the  fully qualified server name and host name in the host file with ip address of this pc.

Like:

XX.XX.XX.XX     hostname     fully qualified server name.

Hi, thank you for the answer.

Indeed, I have installed Netweaver 7.30 ABAP trial.

I can't find the ABAP+Java version for download, is it still available?

Thank you very much for the answer.

I'm pretty new to SAP installations and I don't quite get around the SAP systems yet.

The purpose for this installation is to get it working so that we can try SAP Strategy Management in our company.

The NW Trial version downloaded was SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP 7.03 64-bit Trial

As a part of the installation prerequisites I did following:

1. I made sure that computer can resolve name (I entered the IP of the machine into hosts file on the server)

2. Installed Java 1.5 for the purpose of the installation (after the installation I installed Java JDK 1.7 - JDK 7u45)

3. Turned off firewall

4. Set system requirements (size of swap file, computer name - no longer than 13 characters)

5. Started the installation (SAP Central --> MaxDB), there were no other options to install

6. After succesfull installation opened the MMC and started the instance

7. When the instance is started I can LogOn via SAP GUI and administer the system

8. I then installed SAP Strategy Management Application Server (I can log on to the admin console with samples)

9. Next step I'm required to run Model Designer and here it gets tricky, I need to set up something in the SAP NWA to be able to run the Model Designer and that is why I'm trying to get this working

Please advise if this is possible with the NW Trial version mentioned and what the installation process in general should look like.

Hello

The one you have installed is a trial version and you cannot install a Java stack on top of that.

If you want a Java stack then you should install a separate Java stack with its own database.

You need to download the installation master and select AS Java for installation.

Could you please send me a link on SAP Marketplace for that installation.
