Capturing the Employee Performance Rating in PA for Every Year

Dear Professionals

My client currently using OM, PA & PY modules and they don’t have Personnel Development. They would like to capture the Employee Appraisal ratings alone in the existing set up. They have 5 point scale ratings like 1.Extraordinary 2.Very Good 3.Good 4.Average 5.Not Acceptable.

When I am searching in net I found there is an option to capture the details in IT024 or IT025. Whether it is possible to capture the ratings alone in IT0024 or IT0025?

If it is possible pls let me know how to configure the same.

  Employee apprisal rating to be stored in infotype 0025, for that you need to configure in the ECC system, by using the concepts like

  • Apprisal Catalogue.
  • apprisal model
  • apprisal type
  • criteria group
  • criteria
  • scale

•       Appraisal Catalogue: It denotes the complete list of the appraisal model which are used in company to evaluate the performance of the employee, Ex: Manager’s appraisal model

                                                                                                                                      Executive’s appraisal model

•       Appraisal model: Appraisal model denotes a templates which is used to appraise the performance of the employee. The  object category is ‘BS’.

•       Criteria Group: It denotes the category of the parameter which are used to apprise an employee ,multiple criteria groups are involved for an appraisal model. The object which denotes “BG”. EX: Technical experience, team management skills, customer facing skills.

•       Criteria: Criteria denotes the elements which is used to apprise the performance of the employee.             Ex:  No. of years of experience.

                                               Solution designing

•       Scale: Appraisal scale would be used to measure performance and have rating assigned  against particular criteria.

•       These are divided in to Two types: Quality scale

                                                                Quantity scale

•       You can find path for the configuring this :

      Personnel Management  à  Personnel Development  à  Objective Setting and Appraisals à Settings for Predefined Performance Management Process à Edit Performance Management Process

even though you haven't implementing Personnel development. these are the limited functionalities to capture apprisal  ratings for the employee in IT0025.

If you would like to capture only ratings then you need to update manully by LSMW.

Yes we need to capture only the Ratings. That alone I need to upload via LSMW in IT0025 is it ??

Hi Jaymoh,

  To updating even IT0025 need to have above functionalities to be configured.then you can go for LSMW updation. untill and unless not configuring system will throw error while maintaing 0025.

For a better option what i can suggest you is rather than configuring above concepts and maintaing 0025. as you are saying that you wanted to maintain only for rating , to track of record of aprisal. if it so i can suggest you ask abaper to create custom infotype for maintaing rating for the employee. so that it reduces configuring all and maintaing 0025. you can directly maitan data in custom infotype through lsmw.

Upload your PA ratings (1.Extraordinary 2.Very Good 3.Good 4.Average 5.Not Acceptable) manually through LSMW in IT0147 (Pers. Appraisals)

Thanks for your kind response. IT0147 is seems to be suitable for country Japan but our requirement is for India.

Whether we can use this infotype ? will it affect any other settings ?

Hi Vara prasad,

My suggestion would be is that you can create a custom infotype and add the necessary fields you need to capture in that infotype.

As you are not using P.D module this would be the ideal way to proceed. To use the infotype 24 you need to configure the list of qualifications (Qualification catalog) which are been displayed in the drop-down which whereas your requirement is just to store the overall rating.

Also 25 infotype you can store the points , corrections against the appraisal criterion which in turn depends upon the configuration (Appraisal template).

I would suggest that this would be the ideal solution for your scenario.

Thanks for your prompt response.

I just found there is also option to store the ratings in IT0147 (Japan).

But IT0147 is for Japan whether this we can use for India ??

No We cannot use system would thrown an error. Please check V_T582L table it is assigned to japan and if you want to use for india you must make an entry here in this table.
