How to print totals window only on last page

Hi,

I want to print Totals window ( calculations od various fields are being done in the Interface part ) only on Last page.

I have tried out using making the totals window as Final window. But could not achieve it.

I have created the second page which is similar to first page. In the second page i created the totals as secondary window and had put the condition " only after end of main window". This is working only if there are more no.of items which flows to second page. But this scenario is not working when there are only 2 or 3 Items which will be printed only on fist page.

Also I have tried out with various other options. Either the totals window is printing on all pages or it is not printing on any page.

My requirement is, if there is only 1 page, the totals window should be printed on first page. If there are more items which extends to second page, then totals window should be printed only on second page.

How to achieve the above requirement?

Thanks...!!!

I assume that there is no specific reason for creating a new window.

In the main window, use a table footer or template to create the totals display layout as the last object.

The idea is to avoid creating/printing the new window and use the main window to ensure that separate control is not required. This way the data will always be displayed at end of main window.

This will not be feasible if there are many windows followed by the main window,in such case they should all be moved to main window, provided it can be done.

    Hope it Helps.

    Hi,

    • calculate total in main window and then Create a secondary window and put the condition 'at end of main window' in condition tab of this window and also put same condition in condition tab of text element where you put you final total variable.
    • You can also use template and table footer

    Hi Karthik,

Create a window with type 'Main Window' in the first page and create a 'Table' in this window.

The fields which you are displaying in the interface now and which might be fitting to single page or might even span to more pages; Move these fields to the 'Table' of the 'Main Window'.

You can display the Heading of these fields under 'Header' in the 'Table'. Then the values and calculations of these fields can be displayed under 'Main Area' of the 'Table'. Finally, at the 'Footer' of the 'Table', display the Totals from the calculations.

Double click on 'Footer' of 'Table' and under the 'Output Options', you can click 'at End of Table' checkbox.

I hope this helps to solve your issue.

    Regards,

    Anslee

      Hi Karthik,

      Please try one thing:

Doube click on the 'Table', then click on 'Details' on the 'Table Painter'. Add few 'Line Types' (eg, L3, L4) which you will then add under 'Footer' of the 'Table' but as blank. And, below these blank 'Line Types' in the 'Footer', provide the 'Line Types' (eg, L5, L6) which will hold the 'Totals'.

Try and see if this works.

      Regards,

      Anslee

    Hi Karthik,

Give a try to the following steps. I had similar requirement and I followed something like this.

    1. Create a Secondary Window.

    2. Go to the Conditions tab and mark Only After End of Main Window.

    3. Create a template inside the window.

    3. Divide the template into 2 cells, ie the upper cell with a height of 4 cm and in the lower cell print the total.

This might not be the correct approach. But this is what I've followed and worked for me.

    Regards,

    Anoop

    Hi Karthik,

You might have a requirement of printing a window on the last page in 2 ways:

    1) Fix the size of the secondary window at the end of the layout and put a condition so that it can be called only after end of main window. The main window should not overlap this secondary window. There can be a gap of 4cm for the main and the secondary window in the layout. But in this case, you will find an empty space of 4cm in all the n-1 pages which is of the height of your secondary window. (assuming n pages are in the display).

Do not overlap the main window with the secondary window.

    2) If the position of the last window is not fixed and you want it to be displayed only after the data of the main window is displayed, then you can give that in the footer area of the table with 4cm gap in the text editor by giving empty lines and then the data required for display. In the line type used for the footer make sure no page break check box is ticked, so that the data fits in one page.

    Hope this helps.

Let me know for any issues.

    Indira.

    Hi Kathik,

    Anoop is right..

Though you have tried this option on second page already and was working.. I do not see any reason for you to use second page as such.. so remove second page and create total window after Main window on FIRST Page. And put condition of Only After main window with Template inside.

Otherwise you can still use Footer of Main Window and as Nabheet suggested create a template inside with property 'Footer with height' set more than about say 5 cm. I guess then you will have to remove check 'At Page break and set only 'At end of Main Table'.

    Thanks,

    Chirdip

    Dear Karthik,

    Pls check the following.

(1)Create a template in the main window after your current table (if the totals is not a table),easily a 4cm gap can be achieved with the template and the rest of the fields can follow

    (2) If the footer option of the main window cannot be utilized and niether can a template be used, create a text and enter spaces/blank lines to replicate spaces in the output(for the 4cm gap) afterwhich a new table can be created with a footer and line type as desired

Also the 4 cm mandate means that if there is less than 4cm in the first page,it will always print in the second page!

I belive either of the above 2 options should work for you.

    Hope it helps!
