Execute ABAP Reports on HANA

Hello Experts,

Can we execute Existing ABAP reports directly on HANA.

Any method that can execute SQL Queries in ABAP reports on HANA without creating Secondary DB connection.

We are using HANA as sidecar approach. Do we need to follow any other approach for this?

Can HANA be set as primary database for ABAP, if yes then how?

Thanks and Regards

    Hi Jitin,

if you follow a sidecar approach you need a secondary DB connection.

If you migrate your (let's say) ERP system to HANA, then HANA becomes the primary database and you do not need a secondary DB connection.

What is the background of your question?

    Best regards

    Hi Jatin,

Regarding your second question 'Can we run existing Reports " In case of HANA as Primary database. We can run, Since after migrating all the transactional tables would be row based only. All the existing SAP transaction will be run on Row based tables. For custom reports you can generate tables as Column based and make a seperate report Exa. Calling a procedure in ABAP and writing procedure in HANA.
