How do I find the respective table ?

Hi,

Im using standard SAP content in one of my scenarios.

1.) I would like to know for an infocube containing data how I can find the respective table name where the data is stored. (at DB level) ?

2.) Also say I have an infocube X. The data in X is stored in a particular table or tables. Will this always remain the same tables or can they change for whatever reason ?

Regards,

Dominic

    Hi Dominic,

Answering to your 2) questions the tables always remain the same. The only reason there could be another table to the list already mentioned in the above post, is when you compress the data in your Infocube.

    Hope it helps.

    Cheers

The naming convention in bw for cube is:

/BI0/D****N Characteristics Dimension (N is the dimension)

    /BI0/D****P Data Packet

    /BI0/D****T Time Dimension

    /BI0/D****U Unit Dimension

where **** is the cube name.

    Hope it help you.

    Hi,

Generally for cube we have two tables where the data is stored they are F tact table and E fact table..

When ever u load the data it goes in to F fact table it will be there in noraml condition from this if u wan to delete the data u can delete by selecting the request..

After compression it will move to the E fact table and the request ids r deleted.. then there is no chance for deleting with request ids.. before compression u make sure that data is correct ...

Compression wiil be done for improving the loading performance and query read performance..

    Regards
