Hello,
When we run CK24, the profit center to which the posting goes is that associated with the Cost Center.
When we run MI07, the profit center to which the posting goes is that on the material master, not that of the cost center.
We would like CK24 to post the revaluation to the profit center on the Material, not that on the cost center. We have tied substitution, however the cost center trumps our substitution and the profit center from the cost center is used, rather than that of the material being revalued.
So my questions are:
Why does MI07 pull the profit center off the material instead of the cost center?
And, is there any way for me to make CK24 operate in the same way, profit center from material with cost center too?
Thanks much,
Andrea
Hi Andrea
If your GL is created as a Cost element, the PC from CO Object (CC in your case) will override and nothiing can change it.. It seems you have maintained a default CO object assignment at co code level and the posting is going to it
You can try in OKB9 to maintain a default CC at the PC level instead of at Co Code level.. However, note that some postings dont consider the detailed account assignment (At PC or Plant or Busn Area level). In such cases, the postings consider the one maintained at Higher level i.e. Co Code level.. In such cases, if you need a detailed acc assignment, you need to use substitution.. I have presented an article on this in SCN titled "Enhancement to default account assignment". You can use the same approach
The GL triggered for MI07 - Is that a cost element? Please check that.. If it is not a CE, the PC from Mat master will always have a priority.. Also, check if you have maintained this GL in OKB9 and how?

Ajay,
Thank you for your response.
I will look at your documentation on SCN to see if it would work for us.
The GL account triggered for MI07 is a cost element. (Which is why I was confused as to why the PC associated with that cost element wasn't overriding the PC on the posting.)
Both accounts are maintained in OKB9. I am unable to attach a screen shot here with how they are set up. I will send one via direct message.

Andrea
