Advice to enter in sap

Hi , I am currently working as an android developer in a company . Now i want to switch career to SAP consultant but i don't know if my android skills can be used in sap or i have to start my career as a fresher.

Hello Gagan,

As you have good exp. in Android so you can learn ABAP easily, Look all programming Language are same just some syntax difference. So you need to learn syntax of ABAP and then you can use your Android concept here.

BDW, why don't you try to learn some mobile based development in SAP.

Definitely Android Skills Will be helpful to start carrier into SAP if you Choose ABAP Module as it is based on Coding.

For freshers in SAP ABAP have more no of job opportunity compared to other modules.

learning  of ABAP is easy once, you are are Good at  programming.

21 Days In ABAP online Book is available search in Google it will be helpful .

Hi,

With Android skills you could easily start as SAP Mobile Platform developer or SUP (Sybase Unwired Platform) developer, which is basically the same, just different version of Mobile platform.

And I suppose you are good with Java so ABAP won't be hard for you neither.

One of these two options or both would be a good choice to enter SAP.

As per you experience you can go for Technical module like ABAP, BASIS

But if you are interested you can go for functional module.

There are a lots of module have in SAP functional.

You can choose one of them.

  1. PS Module – and PS is Project Systems
  2. SAP FI Module- FI stands for Financial Accounting
  3. SAP CO Module- CO stands for Controlling
  4. SAP SAP HR Module – HR stands for Human Resources
  5. SAP PM Module – where Plant Maintenance is the PM
  6. SAP MM Module – MM is Materials Management -
  7. SAP QM Module -  QM stands for Quality Management
  8. SAP PP Module – PP  is Production Planning
  9. SAP SD Module – SD is Sales and Distribution

With abap knowledge and android knowledge you can work with the new SAP technologie SUP(or mobile)

Or your can programming only with ABAP.
