Transfer Data source from Dev to Prd

Hi all,

     I have created webi reports on BW(Devlopment) BEX query's, same time i have created .lcmbiar files for transfer reports from BO(Development) to BO(Production) but observed that data source for report are still from BW(Development). so i want to change that data source from BW(dev) to BW(PRD),

So how can i change it? or shall i do it manually 'change source' from webi reports data tab...????

just save your report into Production from your webi/Bi lanch pad by selecting production server.

just follow the steps.

choose edit query property.

in the edit query screen choose query properties.

there choose source target and select BW productions system.

enter production system username/password.

then choose same bex query from production system and submit ok.

it may be ask mapping field into exit fields. it may be happen or not happen.

if happen map the same field to existing fields other wise just save the report into BO production.

Hi,

instead of transporting via BIAR files, you could simply transport directly between the systems and then use the Override function to automatically change the connections during transports. Some links to get you started:

Ganesh,

After you transfer the connection from BOD to BOP. The connection still holds the connection parameters same as BOD.

Log on to CMS and edit the connection parameters to BWP and save it back. Refresh the report after updating the connection in BOP and no need to transport the connection every time you move your subsequent reports from BOD to BOP sourced from same connection.

Hi,

Are you using Universe to connect BW Queries with BO ??

If so have you moved your BW queries to PROD Envn and checked whether the Universe is pointing to BW PROD?
