writing an update routine

Hi,

I got to pick up cal month from calender date. So for this I want to write a update routine in update rules.

But all this is for an ods. The cal date is a custom info object defined as key figure with date format yyyymmdd format. The other info object, to which month has to be updated is also a custom info object of type characteristic and reference char is 0calmonth.

I had defined in the ods def, these two as data feilds.

But when I write the update rule and check that, I am getting a message that (No component exists with the name "/BIC/ZZMFGDATE").

However, I have activated, the ods and populated the ods to check if there was any error in the definition. But as I am able to load the data and activate the same I dont feel that there is any error is defining the object.

Please help me in this regard, as this is an urgent requirement.

Regards,

Naveen.A

    Hi Naveen,

    You would need to assign the data fom the comm structure and not directly. Now check and activate the update rules.

    Bye

    hi Naveen,

    have you include the infoobject /BIC/ZZMFGDATE in Communication Structure ?

    you may try to write in update routine for cal month

    RESULT = COMM_STRUCTURE-/bic/ZZMFGDATE+0(6)

    hope this helps.
