Dashboards 4.1 not accepting default query prompt

I am building a dashboard using the query browser against a universe I have previously built. I am trying to return data to a chart and default that to particular year.

When building the query I set up the filter for year as an optional prompt with my default year selected. My thinking behind this and how I interpreted this would work would be that if no parameters were supplied it would imply this specified year. See screen shot below.

This field is then directed at a spreadsheet for the output of a combo box. Again, my same thinking from above applies i.e. if no selection is made the default shown year will be implied.

The problem comes when I run the dashboard. It is not picking up on the default parameter set it in the prompt nor is it picking up on the default value of the combo box.

Where am I going wrong?

I resolved this by swapping out the combo box and spreadsheet method for a query prompt selector. When I did this my default value set in the query browser was picked up and used upon opening.

Could you explain how you have used combo box for default setting in Query Prompt selector.

I didn't use a combo box in the end, I had to swap this out for the Query Prompt Selector Component. Hope that helps.
