Password logon no longer possible - too many failed attempts

I installed the "Gateway Pre-packaged Trial Version for Windows" successfully. After the installation, I tried to login in but typed the password for the "sap*" user often wrong. Now every time I try to login, even the password is correct, the following error appears " Password logon no longer possible - too many failed attempts".

When I try to login with the user "admin" following error appears : "Logon not possible (error in licese check)".

If someone helps me manage this problem, I would really appreciate his help.

Hi Patrick,

You will not be able to log in with any other user in order to unlock SAP* because your license expired.

You will have to unlock or delete SAP* at the database level. Which database are you using?

After you delete SAP*, you will have to log in with SAP* (password: pass) and install a license before you can log in with any other user.

if you are using mysql as a database .

  • Log on to OS level.
  • Start MSSQL server management studio.
  • Note: execute query “Select * from <sid>.usr02”. Column UFlag if have non zero value then sap * is considered to be locked.
  • Execute the query < delete from <Sid>.USR02 where BNAME = 'SAP*' and MANDT='Client no' >.
  • Reset the profile parameter “login\no_automatic _user_sap* = 0.
  • Reset the system

Goto the GUI, Transaction SU01 or SU01D. Enter the user and Display. If you are on SU01, you have an option to unlock the user.

i feel user has been locked due to multiple wrong passwords. (by default, if you enter password wrongly three times, account gets locked.)

you need to contact BASIS administrator to resolve this issue.
