Hi Experts

I have been using EPMCopyRange to copy the formatting & formula & data validation(list) etc to the Row axis..

Sometime it does not copy the data validation(list) as shown below.. till yesterday it was working perfect..

Do you have any better alternative for this ?

My row axis is dynamic which will increase as number of new employee is budgeted.

Thanks!!

Hi,

Not sure if I got your requirement right, but if you are trying to populate your row axis from another excel cell populated elsewhere using EPMCopyRange, you can also use EPMDimensionOverride to achieve this.

Hope it helps!!

Hi Ashish

Thanks for your response..My bad i should i have told in row data region

I am using copyrange to just copy formats/formula to the row (Data region) & I have already running axisoverride to populate employee & position dimension members..

Now the formula/list sometimes does not get copy to the data region .. what is the best method to achieve this ? It was working till yesterday..also one strange behaviour when new entries come in 1st line then it doesn't work..how u achieve this requirement ?

Thanks!!

Hi,

If you check the option, "Keep formula on Data", the formula in your data grid will continue to stay there..and for format, you can make use of Formatting Sheet.

That's the way I have been developing reports.

Hi Ashish

My template is dynamic, new entries can come at any place & the formula/data-validation  should automatically be applied for this new entries..

Is this possible with formatting sheet ?

Hi,

My template is dynamic, new entries can come at any place -> When you define dynamic formatting in a formatting sheet and apply to that report, you'll understand that there are various options available to take care of the formatting like either hierarchy level formatting or formatting on member/property wherein you can define what format you want for various types of members, calculated, input, local etc. etc. The formatting will apply to the members/data as you define and even with dynamic template, it will continue to work.

Advise if you revisit the EPM add-in guide and see how formatting is applied to the reports.

You can also wait for others if they have any suggestions to fix your EPMCopyRange issue so that you can quickly fix your issue.

Hope it helps.

Hi

When you use EPMCopyRange(), I are giving range in 5th row and 6th row. Are you using any formula to bring the value in the cell from F5 to U6.

Do you have some thing written in the 6th row.

Could you please share your requirement. I may be able to guide.

As EPMCopyRange() that you have written seems ok.

Hi, your EPMCopyRange() function seems fine to me. Now, if its showing bizzare behaviour such as sometime it comes, sometime it doesnt show up, then raise this issue to SAP. there are some EPM functions in new version of BPC donot work up to mark, I came accross too.
