"With Master Data" Tab

Hi, I'm creating an InfoObject to track the source of data in our InfoCube.  I don't need any text or anything with it as it will just be a field populated in the InfoCube as a constant through the Transformations.    I was perusing the InfoObject create dialog and noticed "With Master Data" check button. 

Are there any data loading or reporting consequences to unchecking this?  (I don't need any attributes or text)

If you does not require to be Master Data , then check / uncheck does not really matters.

Dear Kenneth,

Purpose of "With master data ' Tab:

Under this tab you will find 2 check boxes -

1. With master data

  2. With Text

With Master data: Means you are enabling respected Infoobject(Entity) to get attributes for it. If you un check this check box, Attributes Tab get disappear and Tables P/Q/X/Y/M gets disappear.

With Text Tab: This enables to provide short/medium/long / with or without time dependent /language dependent text for Master data entries.

T tables gets creates if you enable this check box.

No issues at bex  if untick that settings.

that settings are related to have master data or not. if untick mean not required. its just info object with out master data.

If you dont want att or test then uncheck with master data and check...

That tick will create master data tables in BI system.

Hi Kenneth,

If you don't need any such attr, just uncheck master data and text.

Its a good practice to avoid these tables when we don't need it.

You can use 0SOURCESYSTEM object to get the source as well in the report.

There would be NO issues with unchecking "With Master Data" check button as you donot need to load any data from datasource.

Insted of creating custom infoobject, you can use 0SOURSYSTEM infoobject.
