Hi Experts,
I am using CFM1 and CFM2 to transfer master data such as: material master , Customer, Vendor) from ERP(ECC 6.0 into EWM7.0.
In ERP, these master data has Description in Chinese, but after transfer into EWM, these Chinese characters all display in '#####'.
Who can advise how to transfer Chinese characters from ERP into EWM via CIF?
Thanks in advance.
Julia
Hi Julia,
Can you confirm if both ECC and EWM are Unicode system ?
You can check this in System -> Status -> Unicode System..
You are getting junk characters in EWM because it is not able to decode the Chinese character set sent from ECC.
Cheers

Hi Julia,
I am glad that both the systems are Unicode enabled. Can you also confirm if the communication type with target system is also set as Unicode. ( Please refer to the screen shot below ) This can be found in the RFC connection configuration (SM59).
The above setting in the character conversion also explains why you are getting # in case of error in character conversion.
If your characters are entered in single code page, system is Unicode enabled and you have communication type with the target system is Unicode I don't know any reason why it should not work.
Cheers

Hi Ajay,
Thank you very much!
I checked communication type in my EWM system in the RFC connection configuration SM59 according to your guide, it is Non-Unicode, this is why the MD transfer description with Junk Characters in Chinese.
After I set the communication type into Unicode, now Chinese characters all are correctly displaying in EWM system. So beautiful ^_^
Once again, thanks for your great help!
Cheers,
Julia
