Please excuse me if this is silly question.
I some times get request to cancel the background job using SM37 and job does not get cancelled using SM37.The other option i do is to find out work process and cancel the work process to kill the job.
I understand when background job is running the job will update the database,when i cancel the work process which is running the background job ,how does the database handle all changes done by the job .
