Language issue

Hi all!, our BW is getting data in Russian (Cyrillic characters). The Data comes from R/3 but the problem is that R/3 has the Russian (RU) language installed. So, when we log into BW in Russian we can see the data correctly but ..

How can we see that data in BW (BEx) if we don't have Russian in the system ? It seems like the data is correctly stored but wrong displayed.

PS: the company does not want to install a new language and told us to find "alternatives".

Just a guess - perhaps the excel default language has to set to Russian.

Ok folks, seems there are not alternatives so I will tell this people that our only option is to install the language into the system

As per my knowledge you must intall RU language, with out Installing RU language how will you display as RU.

No, We want to see russian but we get rubbish in the BEx, like this:

We think that the information is stored good but as we dont have the russian language installed in BW we can not display the russian characters.

Hi,

Looks like converting this information to english will be the best option.

If you don't have on your frontend system the russian language installed I believe it won't be possible that your system displays that russian characters.

I mean, if your windows doesn't support russian characters, and installing russian language on windows is not an option (as you say), then I would consider converting texts to other language.

As per understanding your requirement once placed data into Excel sheet you need to convert RU into EN.

ther is one possibility is u have write some VB Macros code.

if u satisfy with this answer pls get back to me , i will send code for you.
