Can we change the scaling factor of measures during run time?

Hello experts, is it possible to change the scaling factor of the Measures during run time? For example, I have a drop down giving me options for different scaling factors and as soon as I select one scaling factor, all my measures within the dashboard should be changed to that scale.

I do not think there is a function for this yet, although I can see why you would want this functionality..

Only workaround now would be to create several datasources with their own scaling factors, and switching/loading datasources, dependent on the selection you made in the dropdown box..

You could take advantage of a formula variable in BEx and use that dynamically in Design Studio. Courtesy of in response to a very similar question here:

Thank you Victor and Sjoerd. Il consider both these work arounds.  We actually have a requirement where we have a drop down with 4 values( Local Currency '000, Local Currency '000000, Group Currency '000 and Group Currency '000000) . The '000,'000000 represent the scaling factor. the user wants control over the scaling factor in the dashboard.

I haven't gotten around to trying them yet due to system access issues. Both approaches will definitely work but i would imagine using the formula variable in Bex would be a better solution than creating several data sources in Design Studio for this. Creating several data sources might have some performance issues.Each screen is showing 3-4 charts, so switching data sources isn't an option here.
