    Hi,

The restriction key figure gives the Multi dimensionality concept in the reports. For eaxample , assume you have Customer and Month are the characterstics in ROWS of the query. And also assume "Value of the document" in the Columns. So if you execute the quey , it diplays the "Value of the document" for all types documnets("Value of the document" of all documents with type 'Invoice' + "Value of the document" of all documents with type 'Reurns') for different combination of customer and month.

If you make the restriction for this column with document type = 'Invoice'.then the report displyes the "Value of the document" of all documents with type 'Invoice' only(i.e excludes all other documents with type other than 'Invoice)for different combination of customer and month.

      Hi Pradeep,

What ever you did is technically correct. But in real case, we will take the filter on Distr Channel(= D01 and D02).

If you use a characterstics in the restriction key figure which is not taken in rows of the query, Then query becomes a sort of Multi dimesional report.

    Hi,

Yes ur right..it will work as a filter,You can now use this restricted key figure in all queries based on this InfoProvider by moving the key figure into the rows or columns of the query using Drag&Drop. The restricted key figure is not an actual element in this query, but a placeholder referenced to the restricted key figure in the InfoProvider
