RFC Look-up not working in PO 7.4.

Dear Experts,

We are using PO 7.4, service pack 2.

We have a IDoc to File interface where we had used the Graphical RFC Look-up, (using parameter)

During the run-time, the output payload is getting blocked due to the look-up and no payload is getting generating. ( we had tried disabling the lookup, the output appears then).

Request you to suggest if there is any difference in configuring the graphical RFC look-up in PO 7.4 and if Graphical look-ups work on single stack operation.

Thank you,

Best Regards,

Ajay

Hello Ajay,

I understand this interface was working fin in the past...did you recently upgraded your PI installations? (If you are not sure, ask your BASIS team)

If so, there may be changes in the RFC lookup functionality provided in the graphical mapping.

this can be due to bad context change (a PI Bug) .

Did you manage to see data in the RFC channel log? press the links and review is there any data payload.

report back to continue from that point.

Hi Nimrod,

Thank you for your reply.

This system is a new PO7.4 system.

The interface is working fine when we are testing by removing RFC look-up.

Also the channel shows successful transmission, but it wont show the payload it used to look-up the table in ECC system

Thank you,

Best Regards,

Ajay

  1. In the RFC lookup functoid you will see a button with a "wizard stick" icon on it. this refreshes the structures loaded to the lookup. press it, check there are no "red" fields.
  2. check SAP release notes regarding effects on existing mappings following an upgrade.
  3. remove the lookup functiod and create it from scratch.

Hi Ajay

Try to rename the parameters in OM and Mapping. Then change the ICO to have the new name and then activate.

See if it works or not.

Hi Indrajit,Muni,

I had tried the same, editing the objects, and reactivating the same.

But it is the same error.

Thank you,

Hi,

check message mapping and operation mapping test results using input payload.

if it is fine then go for end  to end testing.

what is the logic are you using to produce the output message?

may be lookup output does not satisfy the condition.

Muniyappan.

Hi Muni,

Thank you for your reply.

I have tested the Logic at MM and OM levels and it is working fine.

We are getting the desired output during mapping test, but not during end to end testing.

Also even if the condition of the look-up fails, the output should not disabled as we have mapped the receiver field with default, if no values are passed form Look-up, the default values are passed.

Thank you,

Best Regards,

Ajay

Hi Ajay,

Can you edit the ICO in which select the operation mapping again? save and activate the same.

see if it helps.

Muniyappan.

Hi Ajay

Did you see the RFC adapter in comm channel monitoring , to find out whether it is running or not.

Also try to run the RFC manually and see if its running or not.

Hi Indrajit,

Thank you for your reply.

The channel is running fine. As I can see the transmission, in its log.
Also RFC Connection is fine.

Thank you,

Best Regards,

Ajay
