how to transport export datasource

Hi Gurus,

I am bit confused on this topic. I have a cube which is being fed by an ODS. So I have an export datasource created which is feeding the cube. Now when I transfer this whole structure in a transport, no where do I see the export datasource. Few of my friends suggested it is automatically created when we move the transport to QA.Some said we have to generate the datasource in QA. But I want to know your expert opinion on this. Please help me out in resolving this issue.

Regards,

Kal

If you capture all the changes in a single transport then i should automatically be done in QA/Prod when its transported.

    Hi Kal,

Yes it's automatically created when ODS object activated, the activation of ODS object was done in QA/Prod when we do the transport.

You can find in your BW Myself source system with name 8[ods name]. Hope this helps.

    Hi,

To maintain system consistency, DataSource metadata from the BW development system is not transported into the following BW systems. You must copy DataSource metadata from the respective OLTP system into each BW system again.

Copy the metadata prior to the first transport between BW systems (B1 in B2, B2 in B3) from the connected OLTP system into the corresponding BW target system.

      Hi Siddhu,

I think the case may a little bit different for datasource from ODS-Cube (with the source system is BW Myself)

Datasource generated from ODS (8[ods object name]) not directly transported but also no need to copy or replicate datasource, it's generated by system in the process of ODS activation which's done manually in Dev, and automaticaly in QA/Prod in the process of transport request when system activate transported ODS object

    Hi

In your Production environment you could try CTRL+ F3 to display all generated objects. (in particular the 8..export datasources) You should see them in Rsa1 --> Infosources

    Hope it helps
