SAP NetWeaver Install with Cloud Based HANA Installation

All,

Quick question.  I'm performing a NetWeaver 7.4 HANA install on a windows box - Windows Server 2008.  The HANA installation is a Cloudshare Based HANA installation.  On the install.., I'm getting the following error what connecting to the HANA DB:

"...This computer's host name is 'XXXXX.vm.cld.sr' but a reverse lookup returned 'XXXXX'. This will lead to problems later on when starting the Web Application Server. SOLUTION: Insert a line: 'XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX XXXXX.vm.cld.sr' into the host file 'C:/Windows/system32\drivers\etc\hosts', and then continue with the installation...."  (Note:  Substituted host and IP names above)

Here's the catch, when I do a whois reverse lookup on the Cloudshare box, I'm getting the fully qualified name...the windows VM i'm on seems to find the full name too.  Something is strange in the config that's making the SAPinst package get confused.  Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Tim

Well...I was putting the fully qualified name in for the installer.  I put "just the hostname" in...setup an entry in my local windows host file for XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX <hostname> <-- not fully qualified...and this "got it around it."  Thanks for the help.

What does the command 'hostname' returns? If it returns only the host name (and not the Fully Qualified Domain Name) then everything is fine and the installation can continue.

hostname returns just the hostname.  Not sure what you mean.  Are you referring to what the installer checks?
