How to implement fail over on existing installation BO 4.X?

Hi experts,

How to implement fail over on existing BO 4.x installation? Is BO clustering allowed on existing installation?

We have BO 4.x environment from last one year and now we want to implement fail over on this?

It is appreciated if we have different approaches or scenarios. I am not able to find these details in BO admin guide.

for Failover you can Cluster an existing BI 4 installation.

This information is available in the BI 4 Administrators Guide on PAge 320

    • Hi,

if you continue to read the document you will get answers to most of your Questions.

      - The steps to configure your Tomcat WAS is covered in Chapter

      - After the Installation you move the FRS from the first Node to a shared Location. This could be a SAN/NAS or a File Server. Afterwards to edit the Directories in the Input File Repository Server and in the Output File Repository Server to this new Location. Please use only a UNC path to connect to this Location. You have also to take that the User, under which the Services are running, have Read/Write access on this Location

      - Mobile Services are deployed on your Tomcat Web Application Server. During the clustering on a BI 4 Environment you wont cluster the Tomcat Web Application Servers. In order to have HA on your Web Applications, such as the Mobile Application, you need a Loadbalaner in front of your Tomat Web Application Server

      - Failover is covered by the BI 4 Application. The Clustering is within the Application and not on OS Level. HA is also covered by the BI 4 Application for hte BI 4 processes. HA for the Web Applications is achieved by a Load Balancer in front of your Tomcat Web Application Servers

      - With regards to clustering Data Services i recommend you check the Data Services Documentation of the Data Services Forum
