Using Eclipse Visual Editor in Developer Studio.

I am interested in using the Netweaver Developer studio platform also for Java UI based Application development which has awt / swing components.

Visual editor is a plugin which we add to the standard Eclipse platform to enhance its capability to make standalone UI based application development easier.

Can I extend the Developer studio in a simillar manner i.e. by adding these plugins to Developer Studio platform (in turn Eclipse platform).

Has anyone tried doing this and met with any success. I have tried to add these plugins in to the Developer Studio eclipse platform but it does not work.

Netweaver developer studio is based on eclipse 2.x

While the current Eclipse platform is 3.1. Maybe the plugins are only compatible with 3.x versions of Eclipse.
